March 2016

Reading Leo Konstantinou's @Harvard_Press book, Cool Characters on irony in Am Fict. Bit disappointed that John M Krafft spelled "Crafft".

I was warned that I might be very tired and potentially sick today after yesterday's cyclophosphamide. So far, holding up well.

I think it is so arrogant to say that everyone who needs access has it. Sat in a hospital ward feeling anxious and it's good to have OA.

V grateful I can read "Short term effects of intravenous pulses of cyclophosphamide in the treatment of connective tissue disease crisis".

Looks like I shouldn't have (m)any long-lasting problems from the stroke here, although they're still not letting me out quite yet.

I've been in hospital for a week now and am afraid I have had a stroke. Not sure what the prognosis is yet. Fingers crossed.

My sincere apologies to #RLUK16 delegates & organisers. I've had a bad week that has involved A&E. Was so looking forward to this too.

Reading #AcBookSouth & may be missing context, but surely only some types of OA make it "harder to publish". APC-free +green immune...

Despite feeling fiendishly unwell, I really enjoyed today's @Birkbeck_WIP event! Particularly enjoyed papers on Tom McCarthy,

Noticed a new trend on London public transport this last week for quite energetic dancing to music on one's own headphones.

If I leave the room during television ads (hypothetical since I don't have a TV) am I running a protection racket?

Advertising is a terrible and ultimately unstable economic house of cards on which to base our media. Blocking it just exposes this.

Other thing at UEA... Apparently there's a reading group doing my book & I'll attend. Can't decide for whom that's most scary. Me or them.

HEFCE's open-access policy kicks in one month today. Deposit articles within 3 months of acceptance or they will be inadmissible to REF.
